  Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister, Tanya Brown, says she is reconsidering whether O.J. Simpson may have received help disposing of evidence following the 1994 deaths of Nicole and Ron Goldman.   A former Rwandan army sergeant major and outspoken critic of President Paul Kagame has been found without a head on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. Robert Kabera, 50, had sought asylum in Uganda after fleeing Rwanda, where he faced allegations of  defilement that he denied. He maintained that he was being politically persecuted. Ugandan police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke said on Monday that residents discovered Kabera’s body over the weekend. Police said part of his remains had not been recovered. His family said he had travelled to inspect a construction site approximately 45 kilometres outside Kampala before the incident. Kabera’s widow, Jeanne d’Arc Rwigema Uwizeye, told BBC Great Lakes in a written message that she feared for her family’s safety. “It is scary.   Suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked soldiers, including a major leading a military convoy, in an ambush near Kanamma village in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, leading to their deaths. The attack occurred at about 4 pm on Monday, October 19, 2026, with local sources saying an explosion struck the convoy’s first vehicle before the attackers opened fire on other vehicles.     It was reported that the major and three other soldiers died in the initial attack, while additional troops were killed in the ensuing gun battle.     The ambush comes amid persistent security threats along the Geidam–Kanamma and Mayamti routes, which sources said had remained closed for months.

  Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), the military and police have arrested five suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly responsible for the abduction of 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Imo State on Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day.   Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA have neutralised two terrorists and recovered arms, ammunition and other items during sustained clearance operations in Sokoto State.   In a statement released, the command's spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, said its officers effected the arrest following intelligence received on September 29 on the alleged involvement of a group of individuals in the said conduct.   A woman identified as Mrs. Anas Iorsase, allegedly inflicted severe burns on the nanny during a heated argument in Makurdi, Benue State.     Benue activist Zege Orkwande disclosed this in a Facebook post on Friday, October 16, 2026. According to him, the woman confessed to the act, claiming she did out of provocation while claiming she didn't realise the water was hot.     Detailing the nature of the confrontation, Orkwande stated;     "Another assault and hot water bath in Makurdi. As alleged, Mrs. Anas Iorsase of Akpehe bath (poured) her nanny with very hot water because of little arguments," he wrote.   "When i called her this afternoon, she confessed that "the act was out of provocation and she thought the water wasn't very hot".    “As usual, let the law handle her provocation.”     

  A young man identified simply as AbdulHahim lost his life following an altercation with local vigilantes over alleged cable theft in Ankpa, headquarters of Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State. Reports indicated that the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, October 15, 2026 when the deceased encountered the group in the suburb of the town.  According to Daily Trust, the young man was heard screaming for help in a clip of the incident, pleading with his assailants to temper justice with mercy.   "Please do not k!ll me, Alhaji, I am the only son of my mother.   Chief Justice of Nigeria Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has warned lawyers against forum shopping in political and electoral disputes ahead of the 2027 elections, saying the practice could produce conflicting orders and undermine public confidence in the judiciary. Speaking on Monday, October 12, at a special Supreme Court session marking the commencement of the 2026/2027 legal year, Kekere-Ekun called for greater professional responsibility in handling election-related cases. “There is also a need for greater professional responsibility by lawyers in the institution of proceedings arising from political and electoral disputes,” she said. Port Authority law enforcement officers responded to reports of a physically abusive passenger aboard a Delta Air Lines flight arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Los Angeles International Airport.
